At Well of Mercy, the staff embodies a unique spirit—one that not only hears God’s still small voice but acts on it by sharing those gentle nudges with others. Recently, Tiffany’s morning reflection turned into the heart of this post. Drawing inspiration from Devotions from the Kitchen Table by Stacy Edwards, she reflected on the power of shared burdens.
“The beauty of the body of Christ is that no one is meant to bear their burdens all alone. To fulfill the law of Christ is to come alongside another person, link arms, and take on some of the load. We are so much stronger together. Let’s look around and see who is weakening under the weight of a burden, and let’s carry it for them. It might be as simple as having dinner delivered to their door.”
God never intended for us to carry life’s burdens alone. Instead, He calls us to walk alongside each other, offering support in ways both large and small. Tiffany’s reflection encourages us to notice who around us may be struggling—and to actively help carry their load.
A Place Where Burdens Are Lifted
Sisters Brigid and Donna founded Well of Mercy as a sacred space where people find relief from the heavy weight of life’s challenges. Every interaction at Well—from a welcoming hug to a cozy private room and shared meals—reflects the intentional care that allows burdens to feel lighter. This environment provides a unique sense of peace and “Quiet” where guests can reconnect with God, knowing that He carries them.
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
—Galatians 6:2
At Well of Mercy, the mission is clear: to serve as a place of respite, healing, and spiritual renewal.
Honoring the Legacy of Support: The Foundresses Garden
The Foundresses Garden stands as a tribute to Sisters Brigid and Donna’s commitment to helping others carry their burdens. Though the completion of this project has been delayed due to unfavorable weather, we are hopeful that the final touches—including the installation of stone and plaques—will soon be finished. This garden will serve as a reminder of the vital role Well of Mercy plays in the lives of those who seek rest and renewal here.
Well of Mercy will continue to be a sanctuary where people can hear God’s voice and find strength in community. Just as the Foundresses honored their calling by creating this space, we are invited to follow their example—supporting one another and carrying each other’s burdens.
Who in your life needs help with their load today? Let’s come alongside them and fulfill the law of Christ.
