A Year of Enlarged Territory and Countless Blessings
We began 2023 inspired by the Prayer of Jabez, asking God to “enlarge our territory.” Now, as we reflect on the year, we find ourselves counting an abundance of blessings.
From the number of guests we’ve served to the new community connections formed, it’s clear that we’ve experienced growth in many areas. The involvement of our board of directors, the tireless support of our volunteers, and the generosity of our donors have blessed Well of Mercy in ways we could never have imagined. Yet, the greatest blessing of all has been God’s hand guiding and sustaining this ministry.
Blessings from the Past to the Present
Looking back at the origins of Well of Mercy, it’s clear that the Prayer of Jabez was also fulfilled for Sisters Brigid and Donna. Their journey to “enlarge their territory” was not accomplished overnight—it was an incremental labor of love, filled with a series of blessings along the way.
Progress on the Foundresses Garden: A Tribute to Blessings
Fast forward to today, and we find ourselves continuing this legacy. One of our most meaningful projects this year has been the Foundresses Garden—a tribute not only to Sisters Brigid and Donna but also to God’s blessings. This garden will be a lasting reminder of the gift that Well of Mercy is to the world—a sanctuary of peace in a chaotic world.
This year has been a beautiful reflection of how God blesses us when we step forward in faith. As we conclude 2023, we carry the blessings we’ve experienced into the new year, knowing that God’s work here is far from finished.
